These sessions gives young budding players more sessions to supplement their existing programme.
Future players must attend at least 1 other group or 30 minute individual.
Futures is for Performance based players that want a little bit more out of their tennis and wish to commit time to improve, compete individually and represent club teams.
What is Mini Tennis Green
Mini Tennis Green is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Orange and is for children aged 9 and 10. Players can now put their technique and skills into practice on a full size court with a faster ball and bigger rackets. It’s the next stage to go through before players start playing with a full compression yellow ball on a full-sized court and it will help them work on and improve all aspects of their game. There are individual and team competitions, with scoring extended to short sets.
There is also the chance to Earn Your Stripes through the Mini Tennis Green Rally Awards.

What age is Mini Tennis Green aimed at?
Mini Tennis Green is for players aged 10 and under.
What ball is used?
A green ball is used, which is ideal for players moving from orange ball to actual tennis balls.
What size court is Mini Tennis Green played on?
Mini Tennis Green is played on a full tennis court for singles and doubles.
What height is the net?
The net is at full height.
What racket is best to use?
A bigger racket of 63cm-66cm (25″-26″) is recommended.
What kind of competitions are there at Mini Tennis Green?
Competitions are team and individual based, providing the chance to compete in longer matches. The scoring for each match should be 1 short set to 4 games, or the best of 3 short sets and competitions should be for a day or can run over a weekend.

Mini Tennis Green Rally Awards
Mini Tennis Green Awards have been designed for players between the ages of 9 and 10 years old and allows the opportunity take part in exciting exercises with regular rewards which encourages players to develop their tennis skills at a pace that suits them.
Mini Green players progress through different levels by acquiring new skills and taking part in exercises. There are two levels in Mini Green: Green 10 and Green 20.
At Mini Tennis Green players learn and are tested on four important skills:
- Rally – Learning and developing rallying skills
- Serve – Learning and developing serving skills
- Come to the net – Learning and developing movement forwards and volleying
- Score and Compete – Learning the rules, how to score, how to compete and fair play
The Green Awards should be completed with a green ball on a standard tennis court. This is the final stage before moving on to full tennis. At this stage players will learn to develop tactically and technically on a full size court.
Within the Mini Tennis Green Awards there are:
- Key teaching points – these are technical points to be aware of, which can be built into lessons as areas of development, but they should not all be used at the same time.
- Movement – movement skills are vital for development and are written into each Awards skill exercise.
- Mental skills – are vital for all round game development and are written into each Awards skill exercise.
